A Solemn and Significant Occasion

The Installation is the principal ceremonial event in the Lodge year. It marks the formal transition of leadership, the recommitment of the Lodge to its work, and the beginning of a new year of Masonic labour.

The Meaning of Installation

In Freemasonry, the Installation is the ceremony by which the incoming Master is placed in the Chair and entrusted with the government, harmony and direction of the Lodge for the ensuing year.

It is a moment of continuity and obligation. The Lodge gives thanks for the labours of the year past, invests its officers for the year ahead, and places its confidence in the Brother called to preside.

The Weight of the Office

The Installation is the most important evening in the Lodge calendar because it places the care of the Lodge into the hands of its Master for the year ahead.

It is not merely a change of office. It is a formal act of trust, responsibility and service, witnessed by the brethren and conducted with the dignity proper to the Craft.

The Year Ahead: Unity

The theme for the year ahead is Unity. Under Brother Luke Collins, the Lodge will seek to strengthen the bonds between brethren, encourage steady participation, and labour together with a shared sense of purpose.

Unity calls each Brother to contribute to the harmony of the Lodge, to support the work of the Master and officers, and to remember that the strength of the Lodge is found in the fidelity of its members to one another.

A Charge to Labour Together

A Lodge is strongest when its members are united in purpose, measured in conduct and faithful to the principles of the Craft. The Installation therefore marks not only the beginning of Brother Luke Collins’ term as Master, but also a renewed call for the brethren to work together in peace, order and brotherly affection.

In this spirit, the year ahead will be one of shared labour, mutual support and continued dedication to the traditions entrusted to the Lodge.
