If you are wanting to become a Freemason in Sydney, Australia, welcome! We’re glad that you’ve found Lodge Southern Cross.

Becoming a Freemason involves a few things:

You are invited to come along to lodge dinners on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:30pm in the Sydney Masonic Centre (Cnr Goulburn and Castlereagh Street Sydney – entry via Goulburn Street) and allowing us to get to know you, and for you to get to know us. You will be personally introduced to members of the lodge and then the level of conversation is up to you!  A great benefit is that you will meet more new people and make new connections. You will also hear about some of the great work that we are undertaking in the community.

An Interview Process with Lodge members and, if required, a second interview with Grand Lodge Officers. Some candidates may be asked to attend more lodge dinners in order for a decision to be made whether your membership application is formally put to the vote in lodge.

The Lodge Ballot, when all lodge members have an opportunity of accepting or rejecting your membership application. It is in your interest to make a genuine effort to introduce yourself to regular attendance at lodge, involvement in lodge activities. If your application is successful in the ballot the Master of Lodge Southern Cross will advise you of your initiation date. If unsuccessful you will be advised of the outcome and some options.

In order for your application to have the best possible chance of acceptance it is important that you regularly attend dinners and take every opportunity to get involved with the Lodge Southern Cross brotherhood. Getting involved is a great opportunity to build upon your networks and to learn about what our members are doing in the community.
